Biz360 Celebrates Ten Years of Service

Tenth Anniversary interview series reflects on the reinvention of media measurement and the company

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — February 22, 2010 — Biz360® Inc., the leading provider of social media monitoring and market intelligence solutions, turned ten years old this February. To celebrate the anniversary, the company paused to look back before leaping forward. The company produced a series of interviews and videos, featuring long�time employees who reflect on changes in the market and media, with clients, and within the company itself.

The common theme throughout the series is how media measurement, and the company, has been reinvented in the past ten years to meet the velocity of the changing media and the evolving needs of clients. For example, the company recently launched Biz360 Community, a social media measurement solution based on the enterprise level platform which is now available for businesses of all sizes.

At the anniversary party for former and current employees, founder and current board chairman You Mon Tsang told the group, “Ten years ago I knew what we were doing [at Biz360] would still be relevant today, and ten years from now, I know that what Biz360 is doing today will still be relevant.” His interview shares the story of how Biz360 got started and key qualities that entrepreneurs need to be successful.

The company's very first employee Senior Engineer Gavin Das, who first worked out of the founder's spare bedroom and is still at Biz360 today, was asked in the series how social media has changed what customers are asking from Biz360. He replied, “The challenge has been to continue to scale. This is not a new problem for us. We had the same challenges ten years ago in traditional media. Traditional media used to be what drove the volume and speed of the data, but now it is the massive amounts of consumers � Twitter is essentially real time. The amount of data is growing and we need to provide it faster in each iteration. Over the years we have rearchitected the platform numerous times so that we can continue to scale.”

Senior Account Manager, Danielle Sherman, shared in her interview that the services team is in more of an advisory role than ever before. “Back when I started, almost seven years ago, our clients were people who had been doing public relations for a long time. While they needed help with measurement since it was new to them, they didn�t necessarily need our help to conduct their core function. Now social media is new to all of our clients. They look to us for best practice leadership.”

Vice President of Sales Eric Israel, seven-year veteran with the company and Tamairah Boleyn, director of marketing with close to six years, both shared how the buyer and overall audience for measurement has expanded.
